Disgraced police officers, Sergeant Dillon Todd and Senior Constable Anthony Drake, are handpicked to man a newly established Police Beat in the picturesque coastal town of Burleigh Heads, nestled along Australia's Gold Coast. 
While many perceive this posting as a cushy public relations gig, not everyone is convinced, especially a tenacious local journalist who begins delving into Todd's checkered past. 
As they settle into their roles, Todd and Drake unwittingly stumble upon a web of corruption that entangles not only their own but also an unscrupulous shadow federal minister, an enigmatic property developer, and a powerful underworld figure.
